I wasn’t going to post this, but I got a few emails asking where this week’s Eight Questions interview is, so here is an update.
A blogger emailed me last week asking to be interviewed. Normally, I wouldn’t interview someone so new to blogging. My goal is to seek opinions from people who have been doing this a while or people I know are committed to blogging. This person had a unique situation which I found interesting enough to overrule my criteria.
Well, I sent the interview last week, then again this week, yet never heard back. Perhaps the email was lost in the web, or maybe the blogger had a change of heart. In any event, I didn’t prepare a backup interview, and I don’t want to rush around and ask people to do last minute interviews as if they were an afterthought. I’d rather have no interview than offend someone by saying, “Hey, the person I planned to interview bailed, so can you help out?”
I apologize to those who came here seeking an interview. Eight Questions will return next week.
Thursday’s post will be up later tonight.

That’s a shame, I would have helped you out.

that person sucks b/c as my hubby, the resident IT guy tells me, snail mail gets lost but e-mails don’t. If you sent it and it went through then they got it and choose not to answer.

That wasn’t a good mistake (on his part), missed a great opportunity. Who would give up a chance on a little exposure? At the very least could have politely declined.
No matter, I will keep reading your blog. It is worth coming back to your site just for your pumpkin patch photo.

Matthew – Good to know, thank you. Like I said before, I don’t want to insult any of my readers. I would like to interview many of you in time. I try and go with my gut as to when the best time is for each person, so I don’t want anyone thinking, “Crap, he chose me AFTER he chose 15 other people! What a jerk!” I just kind of follow my journalistic gut when it comes to interviews, and it’s served me fairly well until now.
Writer Dad – word.
Jen – I would like to think there is a legitimate reason, perhaps some other obligations, who knows? Although, I imagine my first email could have offended him, because I said that I need to know that he is serious about blogging (as his blog is VERY VERY new) before I interview him. I THOUGHT I was friendly, but who knows how words read in email? When I used to interview webcomic artists, who are notorious about abandoning their projects, I hated interviewing someone who up and quit shortly after. It’s a waste of my time and the readers’ time.
Orlund – Well, I’d like to believe he had a good reason. But if he did change his mind, yes, he should have told me, so I could have prepared another interview. And thanks for your comments, I appreciate them.
Sorry to hear that – those are always good posts with much to glean from other bloggers.

CK Lunchbox – I’m glad you feel that way, because you were the person I was emailing next before I got the email. So, having said that, I’ll email you now.
Hey! Jerkweed! You got caught in my spam filter. OKAY!
Nah! It wasn’t me. Hahahaha.
Listen, whoever it was, give them a break eh? Who knows what’s going on in their life. We’re blogging. It’s fun. But real life can suck asswater sometimes.
I’m only defending whoever it was because I know what it’s like to let people down. I rarely do it on purpose and I’m always hard on myself as a result. I’m full of human fallibilities but my heart is in the right place. Maybe it’s the same for this other bloggy dude or dudess.
Give this person a second chance. Please?
Blogger Dad: “word”??? What’s with the street talk, dawg?
You could have interviewed me about what else I keep in my underpants other than the usual. Right now I’ve got seven species of tropical fish and an old casio watch.
