My son is two years old!
I made him a card last night which I had printed and will be picking up later. Well, it’s more of a poster than anything. I wanted to include all the characters he likes (or most of them) and I also used the Cookie Monster and Penguin eating graphic I did for the cover of Comixtalk last summer, simply because I think he will laugh at it.
It took nearly eight hours to finish as I drew each of the elements separately so I could get better detail in them and to ensure it prints large in good quality for a poster. Other than my horrible attempt to draw Lightning McQueen, I like how it came out. And no, I didn’t write “E” in the actual card.

What a beautiful card – you are SO talented. I’m guessing your son thought it was awesome, as well. That’s a keeper.

beth – Thanks!
Dan – Because you have been brainwashed by the pro-BloggerDad propaganda machine!
Tracy – Thanks!
WriterDad – I knew there was a reason I’m wearing leather pants.
Barbara – I’m giving it to him at his party this weekend. I can’t wait to see the look on his face!
I don’t even want to think about all the copyright violations going on in that card…
…but it’s AWESOME! I’d make sure to laminate the original you give him, because he’s gonna want to point out and touch all of his friends over and over and over.

What a fab thing for him to keep and look back on in years to come.
He’ll be saying ‘I treasure that card my dad made me way back when I was 2 – but I’m pretty sure Lightening McQueen looked nothing like that’!
You’re one talented daddy.

Awesome. And it’s nice to see some oldies mixed in with the newbies. I guess Winnie The Pooh and Snoopy really are timeless.

Happy birthday E!
Nice job Blogger Dad!
Big Bird has only got one ball.
That’s an awesome card, Dave! Definitely one for the scrapbook, as E will likely appreciate it even more when he’s older than now. Just be sure you have at least one copy set aside. Remember what happened to your Curious George illustration? That little story broke my heart.
Hi Dave. The card looks great and congrats on the 2 year mark. Guess it’s time for the terrible two’s (then the terrible threes, the frustrating fours and fives and whatever comes after that.)
I showed my son the card and he spotted Lightning McQueen straight away so it can’t be that badly drawn.

GreenJello – LOL! I got two prints made. I’ll definitely find a way to preserve one of them.
Otter Thomas – Thanks! And Snoopy is The Dog!
Tara – Hardy har har.
Marc – Yeah, as long as there is money to be made in marketing them, Snoopy and Pooh will live on!
Ivor – Thanks! And um, how many should he have?
Susan – LOL, I have one set aside. Fortunately, he didn’t try to throw it away. Though, he did try to improve on it with some crayons.
Dave – Thanks for stopping by. And thank your son for sparing my feelings
cindy – Thanks! Where do I pick up said award?
Happy Birthday E! and I am so glad the talented, special, loving father made 2 copies of the poster, because after he enjoyed one of your last drawings he headed right for the kitchen trash can….I could not forget that one….it is a treasure
