Rejected Christmas Cards

Isn’t it enough that publishers have rejected each of my books for children?

Now, the greeting card companies are rejecting my artistry!

Sheesh, how’s an artist supposed to make a living when people can’t appreciate his artistic genius?

Anyway, since the companies all said no to this Christmas-themed cards, I’m sharing them with you.

Happy Holidays.

    Disturbing.

  2. The girl’s asymmetric double ponytail bothers me more than anything. I can take a unibrow and a murdering Santa, but someone needs to pull that girl’s hair down!

My favorite is the smiley-face card, brilliant. These are all good; you capture the mood of the season perfectly!

Great Cards! Pity the publishers didn’t think so. Christmas, and I am speaking as a committed Christian, is not what it is supposed to be all about, so why not go completely off the wall and talk about what is relevant! Jesus’ birthday was cobbled into the Roman calendar with some pagan feast for convenience. So quite frankly the only reason I “celebrated” Christmas was for the children. Now they are all “growed up” I do it in their homes with their children. My husband and I don’t even bother in our home. And we are radical Christians. Can’t stand all the commercial hype. Jesus is in my heart. All year round.
PS How do you put up with all those rejection slips? How do you keep going? Lots of self-belief? I got a “deal” from a publisher to put my short stories into book form only to discover it was a self-publishing outfit of sorts (not obvious to begin with) and that I would have to pay HIM to publish MY work. I have been in the doldrums ever since and can’t bring myself to write any more from the sheer disappointment. AND after reading Rejecter.com I wonder how ANYBODY gets publish.
But from one writer to another I wish you all the best and I do admire you resilience.
