son cannot seem to stay well… he is well maybe 2 days out of the month the rest his nose is a runny mess…

Thank you for the comments. I’m glad to report that E got better shortly after this post and so far, he’s pooping like normal. Never thought I’d be happy to see poop!

Eric – Yeah, I kinda figured.

David – I’ve got two publishing companies in a bidding war.

Susan – Thank you. Given my aversion to all things insect-like, I am not at all looking forward to lice and scabies.

Brittany – Great, so there really IS no way to keep my kid free of sickness, outside of the bubble, anyway.

At our house I was the culprit. I brought a stomach virus home from Scotland with me. Then my son got sick. Then my wife got sick. Now half the people we know are sick. Someone should have put me in one of those bubbles. .-= Otter´s last blog ..Birthday Party Madness =-.

I read last week that both the flu and stomach virus are most contagious before symptoms show themselves. Sucks doesn;t it. However, I know that some parents send sick kids to school. So it is both! Good luck waiting for #2.

Dave,

Every parent who’s had a child in daycare goes through exactly what you’re talking about — an endless series of colds, flues, stomach ailments, etc. Oh, and let’s not forget lice and scabies.

Hang in there; it does get better. Eventually your son will stop putting everything into his mouth, and he’ll develop a stronger immune system, so the sick days will be fewer. It does get easier.

hi, Dave…you’ve probably tried everything, but my mom had all the old folk remedies and they seemed to work pretty well. first of all, brew fresh spearmint for a few minutes and serve the tea. this will stabilize his tummy and make him feel better. Then, to get rid of the hershey squirts, give him cooked rice and toast. This will solidify the yucky stuff (technical term). You should have some solid specimens reeel soon! good luck (or you can have a family sing-a-long of one of sean’s old favorites: dia-rreahhh (boom, boom), dia-rreahh (boom, boom)…when you’re riding in your chevy and your pants are feelin’ heavy, dia-rreahh!! (p.s. sweeten tea with honey , or he may not want to drink it)
